Lying in bed with my son Tony.
Sunday evening, I lay in bed reading a book. Tony was on the bed with me. He was resisting sleep. His usual habit in this situation would have been to crawl off the bed and look for his mother. But Sunday evening, he stayed in bed, tossing and turning, sometimes standing fully erect or raising himself on his knees. I continued reading and sometimes Tony would try to look at my book, wandering what I was doing. Another time, he lay on his stomach and looked at me. Our eyes meet and he smiled at me - It was a moment that can't be taken away from me. Being a parent has its' joyful moments.
