Wednesday afternoon walk in AKICistan #3: The Countryside.

Hui Shan City was built in the countryside of Wuxi over the past ten years or so. I can take photos contrasting the old and new parts of Hui Shan very easily. Some of the photos I have taken are but a ten minute walk from my Internet connection and big screen television.

In the photo below, a man tills his field. In the background looms the Ramada Hotel Towers.

Turning my camera the other way, I saw this:

Many locals still go to ponds to wash their clothes and whatnot's. I wonder about the sanitariness of it.

Below, the old countryside houses in the foreground contrast sharply with the looming towers of our apartment complex in the back.
