8:23 PM View: Going Stupid about Chicken Pox Edition


 I had to put a title on this blog entry.  The stupidity or mendacity that was the Covid overreaction has raised its ugly head again.

A student in my grade eleven class got the chicken pox.  Parents panicked and their children got chicken pox vaccines.  Stupid as that was, the  powers that be at my school got even stupider.  The annual sports day that was to take part in a few days was cancelled.  The stated reason:  large gatherings were not appropriate because of the chicken pox.  So instead of sports days, the students have to attend classes.

Classes are large indoor gatherings.  Surely they are more dangerous than outdoor gatherings?  Why not just cancel classes if you are worried about the chicken pox?

When I was growing up, chicken pox was a rite of passage.  No one got vaccines.  The affected student didn’t go to school.  School carried on..,

But not now.  We live in an age where the authorities are clowns and the people are pussies,

This news of the sports day cancellation was received as I was eating this fine meal;
