I’m back from invigilation of an AS Physics exam. With the temperature at 31 degrees Celsius, the A/C in the exam room was needed. It was a sauna in the hallway. The key time was 13:00 but the exam never started till 13:40 because the exam has to be printed at key time as a precaution against cheating. Somewhere in China, some unscrupulous sort has been getting the exam early and selling it. Chinese are so trustful. My co-invigilator was an AKer from India who is also a Dragon Year baby.
Two discoveries. First, the writer Lord Dunsany. Her inspired Tolkien, apparently. His stories of strange ancient worlds full of magic and gods and human frailty are engrossing. Second, the Canadian dissident podcaster Robert Vaughan. A sensible man who moved West to escape the Covid policies of the province of Mordor. aka Ontario. He is a voice that the Canadian Left Wing establishment wants to ban.
