What do I plan to do today? Read, prepare, drink coffee, finish a video, drive Mom to work (I call my wife Mom like my Dad called my mother), duolingoize, blog, think, play solitaire, play my coin tossing game, further modify my coin tossing game, wake up my wife, be patient, try to be helpful, walk a lap of the track nearby the apartment, not post on WeChat, cause havoc on X, monitor the Canadian political scene, find an interesting podcast to listen to, pray
What can I see now? Sun and fireworks.
What milestones have you achieved? I finished reading Ulysses by James Joyce.
What do you think of the novel? A slog to read at times. Some remarkable passages. Touches on a lot of subjects. Maybe with the internet, Joyce could have written the novel in a year. Easy to parody. Tempting for a lazy writer, like yours truly, to imitate Some of the novel’s attempts to transcend societal barriers with its swearing and lewdness seem dated. A Woman gets last say in it.
