I have been fiddling around with some data programs so as to be able to generate some random baseball standings. Creating fantasy league standing results has been an obsession of mine since I was in junior high school. Way back when, I would use coins and my whims to create leagues and standings. Now, I use random number generators.
In the fantasy league below, I have used the original sixteen major league baseball teams. Notice how there is no wild card and there are no divisions. The team with the best record in each league goes to the World Series, which is a best of nine.
In season one, The Dodgers have beaten the A's five games to two in the World Series for the FMLB championship. In each league, you will notice that three teams had winning seasons. The eventual pennant winners won by big margins. There wasn't much drama, but that is okay, because if each year the pennant is decided on the last day, there would be no point to watch the early parts of the season.
