6:59 AM View: Monday, California Wildfires

Rush hour in the lower realms.

Tomorrow evening: you’ll see a view of Chongqing.  Our plane for there leaves at 4:10 PM.

I put these photos on my WeChat moments:

I like the top painting a lot.  It depicts Christ in the desert.

I got the photos off a new account I follow on X:  the one that posted the Davila quote,

California Wildfires: a disaster brought to you by the Democrat party and its DEI and Environmental policies.  It parallels what Trudeau’s rule had brought to Canada.  Kamala Harris said the fires were unprecedented: not true, SantaAna winds are a known phenomenon and there are historical records of the firestorms they can cause.  A defender of Governor Nrwsom said the fires were an act of God.  This is funny because Newsom’s party doesn’t believe in God, but does believe in Climate Change which they are trying to tote as a cause of the disaster. Nrwsom and his party did everything they could to cripple the forest management that would have prevented the disaster like leave reservoirs empty, not back up electrical systems that could have kept up water hydrant pressure, allow petty lawlessness to become acceptable, to chose managers on DEI principles, to stop digging of fire trenches, to force insurance companies to abandon the areas affected, to encourage the growing of flammable eucalyptus plants,…..   The rulers of California are either really evil or very very stupid.

They tell their political opponents to not politicize or demigod the issue.  That’s because there’s not a Republican anywhere that they can blame.  In Nrw Orleans Katrina, the obvious thing which they did was blame Bush.  They can’t do that now because Biden is the president, Nrwsom is the governor, and a black lady is the mayor.

They have to attack Trump who had told them that their forest management was bunk and warned of the reservoir problem.

I have a tenuous link to the mayor.  She was in Ghana when the wildfires started.  I have two colleagues from Ghana teaching economics at the school.
