I just read a definition of racism that says it is racist to believe in equality but not in equity. Talk about an imprecise definition! Equality of what? Opportunity? Talent? Ability? Strangely, it is the equity that makes sense in this definition because it obviously refers to equality of results. Anyway, the definition tries to seem precise by its use of big-sounding words. Hopefully, all people who are capable of reflection can see the definition means nothing in particular.
It’s also racist, apparently, to deny self-conscious bias and refuse to engage in self-reflection and education. I suppose that means that you’re racist if even you try hard not to be. All I know is, if a white person engages with people who aren’t white, it is hard in this day and age, to not think about their race because “anti-racists” have so poisoned these encounters. It is akin to a man trying hard to deny self conscious bias when in the presence of a beautiful woman. What are you going to do? Try your best to be a gentleman. But that is not good enough.
