I am Canadian. I have lived in Wuxi, China since September 2004. I teach English. In this blog, I recount the things I have seen and the experiences I have had here in Wuxi. I also make comments on things that strike my reactionary fancy.

- I add my condolences, shocked and saddened by this.
I happened to be watching the BBC in the very early hours (here) last night
when that terrible story first broke, so I was watching those real-time images , wondering what was going on in the Parliamentary corridors.
PM Harper was removed to safety, very swiftly, of course.
Early this morning the Australian PM and government conveyed their
sympathies to Ottawa. And, within an hour of that, they doubled their security
arrangements around the Parliament House in Canberra too.
- What age are we living in, Andis??
Sometimes, (seriously) I think that I was safer in the Cold War, as bad as that was.
