Monday, July 7

I went to 85 to buy bread.  Took the train for one stop to get there; I then walked back to the apartment.

I was trying to use my Apple Books offline. I wanted to use my time going to the bread shop (85!) to get my daily reading requirements done & did.  But to my consternation, the app wanted me to download the books that I  wanted to read and that I had assumed were downloaded and that I was in the midst of reading.  I was annoyed like I was with a local driver doing their usual stupid thing. I asked the AI what was up.  It told me I had some settings to change so that my books were always on my phone’s memory. The changes resulted in almost all my books disappearing from the Books app.  I had to spend a hour reloading the books from the files apps and my other devices and from archive.org.  Who knew!

As I showed here and here, I attended a local football match with my son.  We saw Wuxi Wugo FC play Shanxi in the high heat.  About 1,000 people attended what my son told me was a division two match.  The crowd was very boisterous.  Wuxi dominated the game and deserved to win even though the match’s only goal was an own goal.  The stadium was old and basic, capacity about 25,000, and its like would never be seen in Canada.

Thanks for all the comments!   Not!  You bastards!  You must all be bots or lurkers!  Screw the lot of you!

Clearly, my last two weeks of this stint in China will not ended ideally.  No big send off will happen. I will say bye to two people.  I am cool with that because if there suddenly was one, it would be like a high school graduation ceremony at my last school: phony and undeserved for most of the participants. I don’t deserve a send off, I deserve to be sent off…

Some one did like my doing Simone Weil quote videos on WeChat Chsnnels.  Just my luck that I can’t respond because I got banned from making comments or replying to messages on WeChat Channels.

Did a few things today. I stayed busy.
