3:51 PM View: Red Scare & What Z-man looks like

I drove to the Hui Shan Wanda Mall where I bought bread, Hot Maxx, and McDonald’s.

I was listening to the Red Scare Podcast:

It’s sexy, right wing, clever, wise and hilarious.

I now know what the Z/man, one of my favorite commentators on US politics looks like.

I was surprised to see how his beard was.  I believe he said he had one, but I was surprised to see how long it was.  I wasn’t surprised by the glasses.  He sounded thoughtful and well read.

10:14 AM View: Constructing, Driving & Walking

Here is some more detail of the construction that is going on on the right hand side of the above photograph.

The above photo shows that the project is taking place all along the boundary of the apartment community.

The photos below show that the dump trucks entering the project have to drive through a pool of water.

Is that ground water or accumulated rain water?

I drove my wife to her work which started at 10:00.

Above the mirror is our apartment community.

I then went for a short walk to the nearby sports center.

7:09 AM View: The Construction in Daylight

There’s some excavation going on at the construction site:

6:13 AM View: already at it

The construction site was lights out at midnight but now a vehicle is already driving into it.

Last night I listened to this podcast.

The Z man is a keen observer of the U.S. political scene.

8:19 PM View: Back in WJ

We took a taxi and train to get back to Wuxi.

I took this photo at the gate of the Jiangyin apartment community.

From the Wuxi apartment, this is the grand sight:

Diggers and Dunp trucks.

5:53 PM View: Big Game & a Cigarette

The Ayi was cleaning the apartment so I didn’t go home at lunchtime.

I left my apartment key at the school security gate so she could pick it up.

I wasn’t able to watch the big USA Canada hockey game; I was able to listen to it on YouTube however.  Tony joined me later.  We were having lunch when the game winning goal was scored.  Tony was all happy.

A security guard offered me a cigarette.  I gladly took it. I initiated the conversation with the Chinese I knew.  I learned that the guard was from  Lianyungang, Jiangsu, as was his wife.

6:30 AM View: Leaving

My son Tony:  “Hey Dad!  Let me leave first!”

Me:  “Okay!”

Me:  “Hey Tony!  You cal leave first!  Ha ha!”

My son Tony:  “aaahhhhh!!”

4:52 AM View: Friday Morning, Big Game

I’m hoping I can watch the big Canada USA game this morning.  It starts at 9:00 AM local time.  What do I want to see happen;  a nice and tough old-fashioned game of shinny.

Flight to Canada was booked last night.

4:53 PM View: Thursday

Should have done this last evening.

11:51 AM View: Worst part of the week done

Done with the BMs (this is code) for this week.

My quandary has been solved.

July is the flight.

Not many students have visited the Russia stores that have opened up in China.

5:13 AM View: Whistling Wind

It musty have been breezy outside last night.  I could hear the wind whistling.

Friday morning, I’ll be watching the big game from Boston, I hope.  I hope I’ll be able to find the game broadcast on a platform in China and not have to pay for it.

5:03 PM View: A Quandary

Suppertime:  Green String Beans & Scrambled Eggs.

Quandary:  It’s like this:  we would have to pay 8,000 RMB for Tony to take four Cambridge Exams.  Jenny doesn’t want to pay for this.  Since Tony’s going to Canada, Jenny wonders if he would even to do the exams.  I asked ChatGPT and it told me that Jenny may well be right.  And since Tony is so shitty at school, we would be saving money on taking the exams.  The only problem is that Tony would have no incentive to do anything for May and June.  My idea is to have him take one exam in the subject for which he is most confident.  Tony would be happy to not take exams.  He doesn’t like my idea to even take one exam.  But of course, he has no proposal for what to do in May & June beside nothing.

When you fight corruption, the corrupt will fight back.

11:32 AM View: Wednesday

Lunchtime.  I kept myself busy this morning prepping.

Lunch: Cheese Sandwich.

Who did I talk to this morning?  Beside Tony, no one.

6:23 AM View: Changed Routine

Not having any 7:20 AM classes this semester (or term), I don’t need to leave the apartment while it’s still dark.

I also have to leave later because my son Tony occupies the bathroom after 6:00 AM.

Here is my new avatar on Weixin (WeChat).

It keeps ‘em guessing .

5:24 AM View: Wednesday

All I can think to blog about this early morning is how sad it was to have Facebook send me a reminder that my cousin Jon had a birthday coming up.  Jon died late 2024.  He was 53.  Too young to have gone.

5:19 PM Video: Suppertime

Tony & I had supper at the same time.  He cooked his stuff; I cooked mine.

Played around with Beeware and Ollama this afternoon.  The latter, which is an A.I, program, told me that the New England Patriots won four Super Bowls in a row.  Every answer it gave me was wrong.

I went to a staff meeting at 12:50 this afternoon.  Second semester is tough they say.  I say it’s demoralizing.

I finished reading Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett.  It was okay but I lost track of all the characters.

I went to pick up a package from the small shop.  A women was asking another if I could speak or understand any Chinese.

11:50 AM View: lunch time!

 Scrambled eggs and bread.

Fucking earbuds!

What I won’t miss about the school is the closet at the back of my classroom.

I love it.

I will miss the security guards.

I manage to get through the day without seeing many people.

PP and JP podcast.  PP was talking sunshine and rainbows about the economy if he was running it.  Not so much about the other things JT has screwed up.  Another podcast I listened to said that the results of JT’s follies will hit during PP’s PMship.  There will be such a mess that impatient C’s will want the LPCers back.

6:21 AM View: Going to be a lovely day?

 Nice sunrise!

I have images for you to see:

On the positive side…

On the negative side…

I don’t know what to make of the first photo.  I found it on X.

The second photo was taken January 24. 2020.  I must have been driving into the wormhole into clown world.

4:52 AM View: Just got out of bed

Just got out of bed, I did, when I took the above photo.

I want to go back, but I can’t.

Listened to a Jordan Peterson podcast with Terry Glanvilke.  Glanvilke doesn’t care for Trudeau or care for Trump.  But the interview was mostly about Trudeau’s years in power

6:18 PM View

No title.  No concrete theme in my mind.  Just disjointed thoughts.

Listened to a duet featuring the Jesus and Mary Chain.

Liars, Cheats and Thieves by Five Times August.

Sad Little Man by Five Times August.

All those 150 year olders getting Social Security.  Proof of fraud even if it is a COBOL default because a date wasn’t entered.

Waste, Fraud, Corruption.  To stop it is unconstitutional?

Maybe you should shot yourself.  Wrong word on my part.  My bad.

Foreign Aid is the transfer of Wealth from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries.  That got a lot of likes.

Canadians boo USA hockey team.  Then get beaten in the game.

Saw a pic of JT wearing the TC uniform.  Make me puke!

Bend over Bernie.

12:03 PM View: One Class

I had a 11 to 11:30 AM class.  Spent, the rest of the morning doing stuff.  Of course, the grade 12s were late. I got annoyed at them. A few had some thoughts.

This afternoon, prep for the rest of the week and, and, AND, the rest of the year…

I’m listening this podcast.

I’m suspicious of both these people, but then I’m more suspicious of Liberals and NDPers.  Peterson had good reasons to be famous but he’s no Marshal McLuhan or George Grant.  Poilivere comes across as a squish.

6:22 AM: The Sun Rises

Hopefully, I can get out of here by 6:30.

5:19 AM View: Monday Morning

 Fragmented thoughts this morning.

I must have slept well.  I needed the alarm to wake me up just now.

I just extended my Duolingo streak to 1849 days.

I fear scared this morning.  Whatever courage I imagined I could summon up the evening before is not there.  I am forcing myself to go through with my morning activities.

2:17 PM & 3:41 PM Views

We drove from Ivy Park to Wanda Plaza to have lunch with my wife.

We drove in the vehicle which now has a license plate attached to it.

Notice it’s the same number as the old vehicle.

We then took the train to Jingle Jangles.
