We have Tony sleep in his crib, by himself, as much as we can. But in the middle of the night, he may wake up crying or hungry so we often put him in bed between us. It is not such a bad thing if he falls asleep quickly. He stays warm, and both the wife and I benefit from his extra heat - it can be a mutually beneficial arrangement.
But, if he is slightly awake and in a fitful mood, we have to watch out. He will squirm and kick and swing his arms often hurting us. Sometimes, we take it like a provocation and hit him back. But the worst thing he does is when he is fights sleep by raising himself on his knees, and then falling forward or backward often resulting in a painful knocking of heads.
And his curiosity knows no bounds...
