7:28 AM Easter Tuesday

This is the courtyard of the international building of the school I’m at.

I suppose the mag safe charger of my msc book is toast when it is hot to the touch and is giving off a burning smell.

5:51 AM Easter Tuesday View

Finished my coffee and will soon wake up my son Tony.

5:18 AM Easter Tuesday View

I’m drinking coffee and listening to birds chirping.

5:11 AM Easter Tuesday View

I’m making coffee listening to birds chirp.

5:24 PM Easter Monday View: The Pope is Dead

I learned, on X, that Pope Francis has died.  His rest his soul, and may a better Pope be elected is his place.  How about that Cardinal Sarah?

4:08 PM Easter Monday View

Jeez.  I took the above image and was most negligent in that I forgot to publish it.  Forgive me please.

To make amends, I will post two YouTube videos of mine that I just uploaded.

12:39 PM Easter Monday

A desk top perspective in my rubber room.

I was taken to a cafeteria-style Lanzhou Noodlex place.  Food?  Good!

9:09 AM Easter Monday roundabouts

Around 9:09 AM, I was walking about the campus.  Here are some other photos I took.

The crowds of students you can see are gathered for a flag raising ceremony.

7:07 AM Easter Monday View

I was out the door of the Apartment and then thought to take a parting shot.  So, I returned.

5:29 AM Easter Monday View

The world seems full of possibilities as I silently sit here, sipping coffee, and hearing birds coo-cooing.

4:46 AM Easter Monday View

The moon in the photo makes a nice way to start the week

9:00 PM Easter View: JJ whatever

By ten, I hope I’m sleeping or at least lying in bed trying to sleep.

Not being able to go to Mass this Easter, I tried to observe the holiest of weekends by posting on a hourly basis.  I hope there was a wide variety of materials to keep the rare reader interested.  The entries probably gave out more personal detail than is wise, but I couldn’t help myself.  This weekend was a painful and isolated one for me.  Thankfully and thank God, my wife was understanding and my son apologized to me.  Unfortunately, in a fit of pique, or a mad moment of despair, caused by the provocation of circumstances, I put myself in a hole that caused a pall on the weekend, and maybe next week as well.

Do I have God or Satan to thank?

8:00 PM Easter Sunday

At 8:00 PM, I was stopped in front of the gates at the JJ Apartment Community.

6:00 PM Easter Sunday View

No idea, have I, about what the intention of all the earth moving is.

Where will I be at 7:00 PM?  Hopefully, taking the last onthedot photo of Easter.

My mood.  Not looking forward to tomorrow. Urge is to avoid people.  I don’t want to explain my mood of despair episode.

5:00 PM Easter Sunday View

Tony said he was sorry.  Tears came to the eyes of mine.  Tony now looks at me like I’m not of sound mind.

4:00 PM Easter Sunday View

I had to interrupt the previous entry to take the above on-the-dot 4:00 standard view photo.

I’ve got some reading to do for the next hour.

3:00 PM on an Easter Sunday

I took my son Tony to get his haircut.  I dropped him off and waited in a parking garage shade for 20 minutes. Thirty minutes and I would have had to pay.

I didn’t get my haircut and beard trimmed at the same time because I was unhappy with how the salon had done it the last time.

The brazenness with which local  e-bikers will ignore traffic conditions and traffic rules never fails to astound.  After having picked up Tony from the salon, I was at an intersection where an e-bike, despite a red light and busy traffic both ways, drove right in front of me as I was trying to make a left turn.

2:00 PM on an Easter Sunday

At 1:00 PM, I was eating lunch and forgot to take a photo of it.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

12:00 PM Noon on an Easter Sunday

Here’s where I was at noon on the dot.

I having lunch with my wife but it’s hard to have an appetite after having had an argument with my son.

11:02 AM Easter Sunday View

I embarrass my son.  What he doesn’t understand is that he embarrasses me

10:00 AM Easter Sunday View

In three months, our flight to Canada will leave.

Will I be going from Commie China to a Commie Canada?

9:00 AM or thereabouts on an Easter Sunday in China

This is the photo I took from the track at 9:00 AM.  Casa Kaulins is in the middle building of the three buildings on the left.

At the track, I recorded three more quote videos, and I read the Mass Today on the Universalis App on my phone.  It is probably a poor substitute for being at a Mass.

At the track, I didn’t actually walk around the oval course but chose to walk on the concourse of the stadium and field house.  I needed to be solitary.  But was it a virtuous way to be.

Oh! Woe is me!  Not!

8:00 AM or thereabouts on an Easter Sunday: Canalside Communion

At 8:00 AM, I was here; not in church

From the vantage point of Casa Kaulins, I was in there somewhere.

I took these two photos.

Here is a video I recorded when I went to the canal side yesterday.

7:00 AM Easter Sunday View

Sadly, I’m not going to church this morning.

6:01 AM Easter Sunday View: Alleluia!

 Alleluia!  Alleluia!  Alleluia!

Christ has risen!

I didn’t sleep at all well last night,

9:00 PM more or less on a Holy Saturday

I was on the elevator at 9:00 PM.  I went to pick up my Jenny from work.

Shortly after, I took this photo, two locals got on the elevator.  I groaned because I hate our 28 floor odyssey to be interrupted.  One of the locals was older and had a bicycle; the other, who was I presume his son, was a skinny punk with a cup of balls of something on a stick which he insisted on eating on the elevator. I want to be charitable to the locals and their gross ways, but I wish the guy with the bicycle had cupped his son in the head.  Ape boy!

8:00 PM Holy Saturday View

At 7:59 PM, I stood at the window waiting for 8:00 PM.  I must scrupulously maintain my commitment to Holy Weekend onthedotism, I intoned.

7:01 PM Holy Saturday View: James Joyce versus Mark Carney

I am reading parts of  James Joyce’s Finnegan’s Wake and parts of Mark Carney’s Values back to back.  If one thinks that Finnegan’s Wake is inaccessible, try to read Mark Carney’s Values.  At least, the fabulous wordplay and punning of FW is enjoyable and makes the slogging through it worth the effort.  Mark Carney’s Values, on the other hand, displays the left wing use of language that George Orwell deplored in his famous essay on Politics and the English Language.  Values uses big words and technocratic gibberish to try to convey the idea that Carney and his globalist ilk should change the way the world operates in order to fight Climate Change.  James Joyce has surely made fun of Carney’s way of using bureaucratise in one of his novels.

6:00 PM or About there on a Holy Saturday

I was at the sports track that is nearby Casa Nueva Kaulins at 6:00 PM.  I was listening to a Trish Wood Podcast, and then some Duran Duran and The Crow Soundtrack as I walked.

It’s nice to be proximate to a sports track but a Catholic Church would be nice too.

Reflection selfie.

5:00 PM Holy Saturday View: On the dot!!

I’m going to listen to these two podcast episodes.

4:20 PM Holy Saturday view

Oops!  I was so enconsed, I mean engrossed, in video editing that I totally zoned out on taking an on-the-dot 4:00 PM view photo.  Please forgive me, those of you who are discommoded by what I hope is a regrettable oversight and not an irredeemable one.

Finished reading today’s mass.

Alleluia!

Alleluia!

Alleluia!

He has risen!

3:00 PM or thereabouts on a Holy Saturday

I was driving at 3:00 PM.

I was still driving a little later when by good fortune (or misfortune), I espied, by chance this pile of blocks at a construction site.

Dazzled and at the same time taken aback by the sheer bigness of the stack of stone blocks, I drove on to the parking spot of what in English-Chinese, I’ll call Kaulins 停车站。

And wouldn’t you know it?  We’re parked next to a Swasticar.

I was immediately filled with these urges to goose step, to blitzkrieg, to strut around in jack boots, to sing the Horst Wessel song, and to invade  Poland.

I should ask this local to 卖你的纳粹汽车!
