Do cars give you freedom?
The stoic Epictetus says you are free if you do not want things that are not up to you. If you can't own it, it can't give you freedom.
So I thought about the idea that cars give one freedom. When one drives, one has to rely on others knowing how to drive, the roads having been maintained, there not being many others on the road and there being an infrastructure to keep the cars on the road.
Where is the freedom with that? Walking gives one more freedom. There is less reliance on others.
