- In less than a week, I will be in Beixing for the Chinese New Year. I bought 4 DVDs yesterday in preparation: Paris, Texas; The Road; The Gauntlet; and Tightrope. I already have lots of books for the six days I will be out there.

- I noticed, yesterday, as I walked down Renmin Road that the Candy Apple Hawkers are placed equidistantly apart. The hawkers seem to be standing at attention as they wait for customers, because they all hold onto this five foot long spectre on top of which are the Candy Apple skewers placed in holes.. The Candy Apple sticks are like sishcabobs -- six bite-sized crab apples are covered in gooey sugarness. I had one once -- not for me I tell you.

- Why are there Summer and Winter Olympics, but no Spring and Autumn Olympics? Are there no sports or games played in Spring and Autumn? What's up with that? And just think we could have Olympics every year. I used to hate the four year wait, and now the two year wait tries my patience. IOC! Make the Olympics an annual event!

- Excellent! I have ten podcasts to download! I will be able to listen to ESPN, Charles Adler, G Gordon Liddy, and Marc Levin.
